Stuart Jones left Jefferies back in 2022. He spent four years at the firm in Hong Kong and was an MD and its head of Asia securities finance. Jones was also chairman of PASLA, the Pan-Asia Securities Lending Association during this time. He was at Morgan Stanley for 17 years previously.
Jones started a new role as an MD at French bank Crédit Agricole earlier this week, still based in Hong Kong, although it’s unclear what he’s doing there. It's also unclear what Jones has been doing for the past two years, but he's not been working in the Hong Kong finance scene, according to the city's Securities and Futures Commission.
Jones' departure may have been a while ago, but Jefferies has lost some significant faces recently, too. The bank’s head of private capital advisory, Matthew Wesley, left for boutique Moelis last month. It also lost its co-head of investment banking, Alejandro Przygoda, at the tail end of last year, Bloomberg reported.
