Revolut is trolling JPMorgan with its work from home policy
Jamie Dimon's push to bring JPMorgan staff into the office five days per week has not been popular, with back-office staff least appreciative of the change. JPMorgan's London teams may then be feeling a little jealous of peers at another financial services firm, where there is no commute.

In a social media post a few days ago, Revolut indirectly took a dig at firms pushing staff back to the office:
Now, Revolut CEO Nik Storonksy has doubled down. In a memo sent today to Revolut staff and seen by eFinancialCareers, Storonsky committed to hybrid working and said "we care more about what you do than where you do it," but noted that the firm's offices will "play a crucial role in our growth." Revolut is appeasing in-office advocates by building a new four-floor, 113k square-foot headquarters in London. Storonsky shared concept images of the new office in his memo. One of these images can be seen above.
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon cares a lot more than Storonsky about where you work. In a viral tirade during a company town hall, Dimon said there was 'extraordinary abuse' of the hybrid system and that staff weren't working as hard because of hybrid.
Revolut doesn't seem to have this problem. Revolut has a reputation for driving its staff very hard and the office doesn't appear part of that. One Revolut employee we spoke to told us that employees "put in the hours because they want to, not because they have to... except when there are bugs." He added, "people don't really care when you're in the office," but most still make a note of "coming in when collaboration is required."
Back-office staff at JPMorgan have already been leaving for the fintech. Otto Prendergast, a VP in JPMorgan's EMEA corporate third-party oversight team, joined Revolut this month as its head of outsourcing for Europe. His previous role at JPMorgan was hybrid in London, but he joins Revolut remotely.
Some fintech firms offer remote work while others prefer the office. Checkout.com, Starling Bank, Brex and Marshmallow have all been winding back their hybrid and remote policies. Stripe, the biggest firm in the space, is slightly more pro-office, but keeps its teams entirely hybrid or entirely remote. "Interns and new graduates have told me it's good for them to work in the office," a US-based Stripe engineering manager told us. "It helps them get productive faster"
