HRT hired Citadel's head of weather engineering in Chicago
Two things are well known about Citadel. Firstly, it has one of the best weather forecasting teams in the hedge fund industry. Secondly, it has moved its head office from Chicago to Miami.
Now, one of its top weather forecasters in Chicago has moved to Hudson River Trading's (HRT) Chicago office.

Deron Roche, who joined Citadel in 2002 and was latterly titled 'Heather of Weather engineering, commodities, has moved to HRT as head of weather. Writing on LinkedIn, Roche said he'll be, "building at the intersection of weather, data, technology and markets."
Roche's departure from Citadel follows that of another Chicago-based weather-focused engineer, Alex Alifimoff. Alifimoff says on LinkedIn that he is now at Point72 in Connecticut, where he is 'head of AI weather."
Predicting the weather is an integral part of trading natural gas and commodities.
Citadel declined to comment. HRT didn't respond to a request to comment.
