Another Eisler PM has left for hedge fund Balyasny

Multiple multistrategy hedge funds are quite fond of traders working at Eisler Capital. Brevan Howard is one of them, Balyasny is another.

Balyasny hired Nikoloaos Rapanos, a portfolio manager at Eisler Capital, for its macro trading team. According to his LinkedIn, he joined the fund last year and is based in London.

Rapanos spent 18 months at Eisler in what was his first fully-fledged PM role. Prior to that, he spent six years at macro hedge fund Caxton Associates as a sub-PM in its global macro team. Rapanos has a PhD in finance and previously worked as an associate at Goldman Sachs.

He's one of many Eisler alums to join Balyasny, which has a thing for Eisler's quant strats. Last week, we reported on Tibor Kucs who joined to lead a team of equities quant researchers.

Other strats have joined as portfolio managers; Alexander Alekseev, a top systematic equities PM, joined in October to build out a team and took five other Eisler people with him. Rapanos may not have been a strat at Eisler but spent much of his time at Caxton working in quant research.
