A global quantitative investment firm is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join its technology function. The business operates a highly technology-driven environment where engineering, data, and research are central to its investment and trading activities.
Role SummaryYou will design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure and deployment pipelines supporting technology and trading systems. The role has a strong focus on automation, developer tooling, infrastructure reliability, and improving engineering standards across teams.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement development tooling and platform infrastructure to improve reliability and developer productivity
- Build, automate, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes
- Manage environment deployments, upgrades, and migrations
- Partner with software engineers to establish and maintain production engineering standards
- Build internal tools and APIs to reduce manual processes and operational errors
- Develop software integrating with internal systems and APIs
- Improve observability and operational readiness through monitoring, alerting, and runbooks
- Experience operating infrastructure across hybrid environments, including on-premises and AWS
- Strong Kubernetes experience, ideally including AWS EKS
- AWS infrastructure experience including EC2, VPC/networking, and load balancing
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or OpenTofu
- Strong Windows and Linux scripting skills
- Strong Python development skills
- Good knowledge of Git
- Strong automation and problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- C/C++, Make, and CMake
- Experience within mature CI/CD environments
- Monitoring and observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Splunk, or similar platforms
This is an engineering-focused role within a highly technical, performance-driven environment. The successful candidate will work closely with software engineering and infrastructure teams, with significant scope to improve automation, tooling, reliability, and developer experience.
