TITLE: Founding Engineer - Senior Trading Platform & Integration Engineer - Do you have experience delivering secure, scalable business-critical systems, comfortable making architectural decisions and reviewing third-party code.




LOCATION: Remote / Hybrid (Preferred overlap with core team) - Monthly NYC visits if Remote




ABOUT CLIENT:



We are building a modern electronic trading platform integrating with institutional broker technology, real-time market data, and secure trading infrastructure. We are looking for a Senior Trading Platform & Integration Engineer to join our engineering team. This role extends beyond a single integration project and will play a key part in evolving the trading platform, enhancing trading capabilities, improving platform architecture, and delivering new features as the platform grows. This is a specialist engineering role suited to someone with experience building or integrating financial, brokerage, or capital markets systems.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, build and maintain core backend services supporting the trading platform


• Lead secure integration of third-party trading, brokerage and authentication systems


• Review and harden externally developed code before production deployment


• Develop integrations with trading APIs, OMS and market data providers


• Build scalable real-time services


• Enhance authentication and identity management


• Improve scalability, observability, and production readiness


• Collaborate across engineering teams / Support production environments / Promote engineering best practices

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs, Serverless, Event-driven architecture, Microservices


• PostgreSQL, Row-Level Security


• OAuth2, OIDC, PKCE, JWT, Token Exchange, SSO


• Brokerage APIs, Trading APIs, OMS/EMS, Market Data


• WebSockets, SignalR


• Docker, CI/CD, GitHub, Monitoring

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:



Supabase (Auth, Row-Level Security, User Management), Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Azure/AWS, FIX Protocol, Options Trading, Clearing Firms.
