About the Program

Our Summer Internship is a 10-12 week program designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to the dynamic world of private wealth, commercial banking and technology. As an intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, participate in real projects, and gain insight into how technology drives innovation and client solutions at CIBC.

What You'll Be Doing

Please note, this is a general application to the CIBC Private Wealth intern program. More details about the team and position will be shared during interviews.

As a Private Wealth intern, you will:
  • Learn through hands-on assignments, structured training, and exposure to both technical and analytical skill development.
  • Connect by networking across the bank, engaging with employees and fellow interns, and meeting with our executive leadership team.
  • Grow through mentorship, leadership support, and community outreach, while developing both soft and hard skills essential for your future career.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
  • Collaborative team player with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

WHO YOU ARE
  • Currently a junior or senior pursuing a major in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Adaptability and agility in dynamic situations
  • Strong teamwork and partnership mindset
  • Thoroughness in execution and follow-through
  • Forward-thinking and strategic approach to problem-solving
  • Conceptual thinking and ability to connect ideas to solutions
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected hourly rate of $25.00 per hour for the State of Illinois market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our intern's needs; including 401(k) contribution, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave and Vacation), and Holidays, in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
