What the day will look like
As an Associate Director - Facultative Reinsurance Broking, you will work as part of Aon's broking team to build, develop, and place structured reinsurance solutions for clients. This role will focus on alternative and structured reinsurance strategies, including loss portfolio transfers, adverse development covers, and other customized risk transfer solutions.
You will collaborate closely with broking, actuarial, analytics, contract wording, legal, and client-facing groups across solution lines. Together, you will assist clients in evaluating complex risks, reviewing market options, and creating practical solutions that support their financial, operational, and strategic goals. This is an opportunity to apply advanced reinsurance and reinsurance broking knowledge in a highly cooperative environment while helping clients tackle complex risk, capital, and portfolio challenges.

A bachelor's degree or comparable experience is preferred, especially in technical, analytical, business, risk, insurance, finance, actuarial, mathematics, statistics, or a related area.
Relevant credentials or progress toward credentials such as ACAS, FCAS, ASA, FSA, or similar professional designations are helpful but not required.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $120,000 to $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success
We are looking for a colleague who brings:
- Strong familiarity with reinsurance and reinsurance broking, along with experience formulating or placing structured reinsurance solutions.
- Solid knowledge of property and casualty insurance lines, with the capability to apply accident-related insurance expertise where applicable to client exposures.
- Experience identifying client needs and developing creative, efficient solutions.
- Strong consulting abilities, including the capacity to guide clients, clarify complex concepts effectively, and assist with strategic decision-making.
- Strong data analysis abilities, including the capacity to assess exposure, loss, pricing, market, and financial data.
- Working knowledge of pricing analysis, exposure assessment, risk management, and structured deal economics.
- Ability to review documentation, contract terms, coverage language, and client-ready materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with credit analysis concepts, including reinsurer counterparty strength, collateral considerations, and financial risk evaluation.
- Ability to prepare clear reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients, markets, and internal collaborators.
- Awareness of relevant regulatory, industry, and energy policy developments, where applicable to client risk profiles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with major clients, reinsurers, and internal partners.

Required Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in broking and/or underwriting within commercial lines, concentrating on property and casualty insurance.
- Proven experience in a technical or analytical role, such as actuarial, catastrophe modeling, capital modeling, structured reinsurance, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Experience with structured reinsurance solutions, reinsurance markets, client analytics, or complex risk transfer strategies is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with Caribbean or similar catastrophe-exposed property markets is strongly preferred.
