Grant Thornton is seeking Data Analyst, Data Migration Senior Associate to join the team in Downers Grove, IL.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst with extensive data migration experience to support enterprise transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations and system modernization programs.

The Data Analyst supports the end-to-end migration lifecycle, helping ensure business-critical data is accurate, complete, compliant, and ready for operational use. This role serves as a key liaison among business stakeholders, functional teams, technical resources, and data migration consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Data Quality

• Analyze source-system data to identify completeness, accuracy, consistency, duplication, and missing-value issues.
• Define and execute data cleansing, remediation, and enrichment activities before migration.
• Develop and maintain data-quality metrics and validation reports.

Data Mapping and Transformation

• Develop and maintain source-to-target mapping specifications for master, transactional, and reference data.
• Define business rules, transformation logic, and data-conversion requirements.
• Partner with business subject matter experts to validate field definitions and update mapping specifications as business processes evolve.

Data Migration Execution

• Support migration activities for ERP, financial, operational, and reporting systems.
• Review migration files and templates for load readiness.
• Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot data-conversion issues and load failures.
• Participate in mock loads, test migrations, cutover planning, and production deployments.

Reconciliation and Testing

• Validate migrated data through source-to-target reconciliation, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and post-production review.
• Investigate reconciliation discrepancies and identify the root causes of migration defects.
• Develop reconciliation reports and controls to support business review and sign-off.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Coordinate migration activities across business owners, functional consultants, developers, project managers, and data migration consultants.
• Facilitate data-discovery workshops and requirements-gathering sessions.
• Communicate migration risks, issues, and dependencies to project leadership.
• Recommend improvements to data-quality controls, governance practices, and migration procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Data Migration Analyst, including at least three years supporting large-scale data migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and validation methodologies.
• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets.
• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Dayshape, Fieldglass, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable platforms.
• Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud data migration projects.
• Knowledge of financial, billing, project accounting, customer, vendor, and master data structures.
• Experience with ETL and data-integration tools.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, SAP Migration Cockpit, or comparable technologies.
• Understanding of data governance, controls, and audit requirements.
• PMP, CBAP, SAP, or data-management certification preferred.

The base salary range for this position is between $72,000 and $95,000. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton's discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity. At Grant Thornton, compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
