This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

HarbourVest is currently seeking candidates for an Associate position in the EMEA Direct Investment team based in London. HarbourVest's Direct Investment team co-invests in buyout transactions alongside established fund managers and participates in growth equity investments.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

• Has a deep interest in and desire to learn about private equity and related markets.

What you will do:

• Investment due diligence, including company and industry research.
• Financial analysis, modelling, and quantitative analysis.
• Developing investment recommendations and the supporting Investment Committee papers.
• Participating in team and Investment Committee discussions and voicing your opinion.
• Coordinating legal documentation and transaction closing.
• Meeting General Partners and attending annual meetings and industry conferences.
• Monitoring existing portfolio companies.
• And other responsibilities as required.

What you bring:

• 2-3 years of professional experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or similar experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic corporate finance and accounting concepts.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively operate in a team setting.
• Fluency in a second European language (preferred).

Education Preferred:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 2 - 3 years of private equity, investment banking, consulting, or similar experience with exposure to corporate finance and financial modelling at the analyst or associate level.
