Are you an actuary looking to deepen your expertise in Principle-Based Reserving (PBR) and life insurance valuation? This is an exciting opportunity for an ASA-level actuary to gain broad exposure to VM-20 valuation, Prophet modeling, financial reporting, and cross-functional initiatives while working alongside experienced actuarial leaders.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Actuary on the Life Insurance Statutory Valuation team, you will support quarterly valuation processes, reserve analysis, and ongoing enhancements to valuation infrastructure and governance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform quarterly statutory and tax valuations for life insurance products under VM-20, CRVM, and other statutory reserve frameworks.
- Analyze reserve movements and clearly explain key drivers of quarter-over-quarter changes.
- Develop new tools, analytics, and reporting enhancements that provide greater insights into financial results and reserve movements.
- Support audits, regulatory examinations, annual statement reporting, and special actuarial projects.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- ASA designation required.
- 3+ years of life insurance valuation experience.
- Hands-on experience with VM-20 Principle-Based Reserving.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active pursuit of FSA designation.
- Experience with Prophet and/or PBR modeling.
- Knowledge of statutory valuation frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with SQL, Snowflake, and/or Power BI.
- Familiarity with life insurance products such as IUL and ULSG.
