Director - Anti-Money Laundering

Job description

The Opportunity

Want to make an impact that matters?

So do we. We believe reputation and integrity are critical to the success of both society and our firm.

Are you experienced in the Financial Crime controls space? Are you looking to take your skills to the next level? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, global environment, working with colleagues from around the world, to meet our business and client needs? Do you have a personal drive to make an impact that matters?

If that sounds like you, our new role dedicated to lead our Islands and Gibraltar internal Regulatory Compliance Function could be the next step you're looking for. This is your opportunity to work across our business areas to help protect against the ever-increasing threat of financial crime, to both ours, and our sector's, integrity.

Role description

The spectrum of our work is broad. You will be dedicated to Anti-Money Laundering ("AML"), Countering Financing of Terrorism ("CFT") and Countering Proliferation Financing ("CPF") compliance within the Deloitte LLP's Islands and Gibraltar group ("the Group") and supporting the Group's Regulatory Compliance Lead based in Jersey. This is a post holder role and you will act in the MLRO and MLCO across our TCB and Schedule II businesses.

You will coordinate and take the lead on maintaining the AML, CFT and CPF controls across the Group, with the support of other members of the team. The responsibilities will include working with stakeholders to identify and agree any controls enhancements and reporting on progress through to adoption.

You will also work alongside our Financial Crime team in the UK and the Group's MLROs/MLCOs to support the maintenance of relevant controls, including Business Risk Assessments, and the preparation of internal and external reporting, with specific focus on Jersey.

You will achieve this through your own initiatives but also by partnering with key stakeholders, including the Deloitte LLP's Financial Crime Team, leveraging central controls and supporting Regulatory Compliance related projects.

Working for a "Big 4" firm, you will be exposed to a significant variety of clients, service offerings and risks across the financial crime space, with substantial development and learning opportunities for the right candidate.

Location

St Helier, Jersey. Some travel to our offices in Guernsey, Isle of Man and Gibraltar will be required.

Hours

Full time/part time, permanent.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include but are not restricted to:

  • Coordinating and leading the maintenance of the AML, CFT and CPF controls across the Group;

  • Completing monitoring of compliance with the Group's AML/CFT controls;

  • Overseeing and completing relevant remediation action arising from compliance monitoring;

  • Supporting the other jurisdiction MLCOs/MLROs;

  • Acting as MLRO and MLCO for Jersey; and;

  • Coaching more junior members of the team and providing technical guidance

In conjunction with the Group's Partners and other Jurisdictional MLROs/MLCOs you will represent the businesses with the relevant regulatory bodies. This relationship will include managing our compliance with our regulators' requirements but also supporting regulators and industry groups in enhancing the accounting sector's overall compliance in this area.

Requirements

  • You will have an understanding of the AML/CFT legislation in Jersey or other relevant jurisdiction.

  • You will have a qualification in AML/CFT or other relevant subject.

  • You will have experience in a regulatory or business environment allowing you to understand or quickly learn the nature of the markets and regulatory environment in which Deloitte operates.

  • You will be required to be flexible, so you are able to react to a variety of issues as they arise, and maintain high professional standards particularly regarding confidentiality.
