Our client is a leading global asset manager looking to hire a Middle Office Associate / Senior Associate to support its APAC investment activities from Singapore.
The role will provide hands-on trade lifecycle support across multiple asset classes, with a particular focus on fixed income, FX, and derivatives. It would suit someone currently working in buy-side middle office or trade support who is comfortable investigating trade issues and working closely with portfolio managers, traders, brokers, custodians, and outsourced service providers.
Responsibilities for the Middle Office Associate / Senior Associate:
Support the end-to-end trade lifecycle across fixed income, FX, derivatives, and other investment products.
Review trade bookings, confirmations, and economic details to ensure transactions are captured accurately across relevant systems.
Investigate and resolve trade breaks, booking discrepancies, reconciliation exceptions, and other post-trade issues.
Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, brokers, custodians, banks, and outsourced service providers to drive timely resolution of trade-related matters.
Monitor daily trade activity across APAC markets and escalate material issues where required.
Develop a clear understanding of the cause and operational impact of trade exceptions, rather than relying solely on established procedures.
Support process improvements and maintain appropriate operational controls within a lean regional team.
Participate in a rotational shift arrangement, including occasional coverage on Singapore public holidays, to support APAC markets.
Requirements for the Middle Office Associate / Senior Associate:
At least 3 years of relevant experience in middle office, trade support, or investment operations with direct trade lifecycle responsibilities.
Hands-on experience supporting fixed income, FX, rates, derivatives, or broader multi-asset portfolios.
Strong understanding of trade flows from execution and booking through confirmation, exception management, and settlement escalation.
Prior experience working directly with portfolio managers, traders, brokers, custodians, or external service providers.
Buy-side experience within an asset manager, investment manager, or hedge fund is preferred, although relevant sell-side trade support profiles may also be considered.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explain the reasoning behind operational processes and investigate the root cause of trade issues.
Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced regional environment with broad APAC responsibilities.
Willingness to work from the office five days a week and participate in the team's rotational shift arrangement.
