Data Center Technician E Middenmeer
CBRE manages some of the most critical data center infrastructure in the world. At our Middenmeer facility in Noord-Holland, we keep hyperscale operations running with our dedicated team. We are looking for a hands-on Data Centre Technician to join the on-site team. This is a generalist technician role with a clear electrical focus: you will spend most of your time on electrical systems, from high-voltage systems and UPS to switchgear, busbar, and power monitoring. You will also support broader facility tasks as part of a multidisciplinary operations crew. With your technical insight, you ensure that all work is carried out safely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable standards.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day work, during office hours, centres on keeping electrical and mechanical infrastructure in peak condition across the campus. Concretely, that means:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems, including UPS units, generators, MV/LV switchgear, busbar trunking, PDUs, and automatic transfer switches.
Respond to faults and alarms, diagnose root causes, and carry out corrective repairs in line with established safe-isolation and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Perform daily site inspections of electrical plant and auxiliary systems, logging findings and escalating anomalies promptly.
Support commissioning, decommissioning, and change-management activities under permit-to-work controls.
Work alongside specialist contractors during planned outages, overseeing compliance with CBRE procedures and the Master Service Agreement.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, completing all required documentation in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Assist with general facility and mechanical tasks as required, contributing to the overall reliability of the data center.
Complete all mandatory training, including electrical safety, first aid, and site-specific inductions.
What You Will Need
A recognized technical qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience gained through a formal apprenticeship.
1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within a critical environment such as a data center, hospital, or industrial plant.
Sound knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems, UPS technology, and generator sets.
Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safe-isolation procedures.
Confidence reading single-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
Good English communication skills (Dutch is an advantage), with the ability to exchange clear information with colleagues, contractors, and management.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role, including working at height and in confined spaces.
Why Middenmeer?
Middenmeer sits at the center of one of Europe's fastest-growing data center corridors. You will work on large-scale, technically demanding infrastructure alongside experienced engineers, with clear scope to develop your skills in critical systems. CBRE offers competitive pay, structured training, and real progression opportunities within a global organization.
