- Establish and maintain governance policies, standards, procedures, and controls across the data life cycle.
- Drive data ownership and stewardship accountability across business and functional teams.
- Define and implement enterprise Data Quality frameworks, controls, KPIs, and monitoring processes.
- Lead initiatives to improve data accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and integrity.
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of data governance platforms and tools.
- Establish and maintain enterprise data catalogue, business glossary, metadata repository, and data lineage capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies related to data management and privacy.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Information Security teams to strengthen data controls and governance practices.
- Support regulatory examinations, audits, and data-related compliance assessments.
- Monitor emerging regulatory developments and assess their implications on data governance practices.
- Collaborate with business units to identify governance opportunities and embed governance requirements into business processes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on data governance, quality, and data management matters.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Analytics, and AI teams to ensure governed and trusted data assets are available for reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.
- Lead and develop a team of data governance professionals, data stewards, and analysts
- Manage governance programmes, budgets, vendors, and strategic initiatives where applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) with a good command of English.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Warehousing, or related data disciplines.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing data governance programmes and teams.
- Experience within Banking, Insurance, Asset Management, Wealth Management, Digital Banking, or other Financial Services organisations.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
- Strong understanding of data-related regulatory and compliance requirements within Financial Services.
