Key responsibilities
- As a Construction Underwriter, you will contribute to the growth and profitability of assigned specialty product lines by developing broker and client relationships, assessing risks and delivering tailored underwriting solutions. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients to support the marketing and sale of Liberty's products.
- Reviewing, assessing and underwriting new business and renewals in line with Liberty's quality and pricing guidelines
- Developing and executing selling and negotiation strategies that support portfolio growth, retention and profitability.
- Delivering a high level of underwriting service and building relationships that differentiate Liberty in the market.
- Managing facilities to support portfolio growth and retention.
- Working with other Product Line Underwriters to identify cross-selling opportunities and deliver complete solutions to brokers and clients.
About you
You will bring:
- Technical knowledge of underwriting principles, procedures and techniques, including coverage issues, product lines and relevant systems.
- The ability to assess and underwrite target new business and renewal opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to develop strategies that support portfolio growth and profitability.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- An understanding of market conditions, competitor activity and opportunities for product development.
- The ability to provide high-quality service and deliver tailored solutions.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, workflow and administrative requirements.
