An opportunity has arisen within its Finance function for a senior regulatory reporting professional to provide technical expertise across balance sheet and statistical reporting.
The opportunity
This is a senior advisory position supporting the interpretation and implementation of regulatory reporting requirements across the organisation.

You will act as a trusted subject matter expert, helping the business understand regulatory obligations and ensuring reporting processes remain accurate, robust and appropriately governed.

The role will involve a combination of technical analysis, stakeholder advisory, governance and review activity, with regular interaction across Finance, Risk and other senior business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on regulatory reporting obligations, particularly across balance sheet and statistical reporting.
• Interpret new and changing regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the business.
• Translate complex regulatory guidance into practical recommendations and clear direction for stakeholders.
• Review existing reporting processes, controls and governance frameworks and identify opportunities to strengthen them.
• Provide independent analysis and professional judgement where regulatory or accounting requirements are open to interpretation.
• Support the business in maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory obligations and reporting standards.
• Work closely with senior Finance and Risk stakeholders to resolve technical reporting matters.
• Engage with regulators and other external stakeholders when required.
• Identify emerging regulatory and operational risks and provide forward-looking insight to senior management.

About you
We are seeking an experienced regulatory reporting or financial accounting professional who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to operate effectively in a senior advisory environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

• 12+ years' experience within financial services, banking or a related environment.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a similar discipline.
• CA, CPA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply sound professional judgement.
• Experience providing technical advice and guidance to senior stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for non-specialist audiences.
• Experience working through regulatory change and assessing its impact on reporting processes and controls.
• Exposure to regulatory registration, notification or approval processes would be advantageous.
• A proactive and analytical approach, with the confidence to form and communicate an independent view.
