An organisation undergoing a significant cloud transformation is seeking a highly technical, hands-on
Senior Cloud / Platform Engineer
To design, build, and operate next-generation cloud platforms across AWS and OpenShift (ROSA).This role is focused on engineering excellence, automation, and platform reliability, supporting large-scale, business-critical services in a modern multi-cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable AWS cloud platforms (including multi-account architectures, networking, and security)
- Deploy, manage, and optimise OpenShift / ROSA clusters
- Develop secure, highly available, and resilient platform architectures
- Build reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure-as-code frameworks
- Automate processes using tools such as Ansible
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Establish monitoring, observability, and incident response capabilities
- Drive platform automation and enable self-service capabilities
- Support migration of workloads in a multi-cloud environment
Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
- Proven experience with OpenShift / ROSA platforms
- Advanced Terraform skills (modular infrastructure-as-code)
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles
- Solid knowledge of networking, IAM, and high-availability design
- Experience building platforms from the ground up
- Strong engineering mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
- Exposure to enterprise-scale or regulated environments
- A hands-on delivery focus rather than purely architectural experience
- Multi-cloud experience (AWS and Azure)
- Platform engineering background
- Experience with observability tools (e.g. Elastic)
- Understanding of FinOps or cloud cost optimisation
