The Company

Our client is a well-established Victorian construction and infrastructure business that provides specialist services to some of Australia's largest civil and infrastructure projects.

Over the past few years, the business has invested heavily in digitising its operations, partnering with an external vendor to modernise a suite of internal business applications. As this transformation enters its final stage, they're looking to bring the software development capability in-house to work alongside the vendor and continue evolving their technology platform.

The Role

We're looking for a Full Stack PHP Developer to help deliver the final phase of our client's internal digital transformation.
Working closely with both external and internal stakeholders, you'll enhance existing applications while taking ownership of new features and customer-facing functionality. One of your first major projects will be contributing to the development of a customer portal that will significantly improve the digital experience for customers.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment where they can influence technical decisions, work across the full development lifecycle, and see the direct impact of their work on the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance web applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Build modern, responsive user interfaces using Vue.js.
• Work alongside an external software consultancy to deliver new functionality and continuous improvements.
• Design and develop secure RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Help deliver a new customer-facing portal.
• Maintain and optimise applications hosted within AWS.
• Participate in solution design, technical discussions and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement high-quality fixes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Contribute to testing, deployment and ongoing application support.

Nice To Have

• Experience developing customer portals or self-service applications.
• Experience working within construction, logistics, or industrial businesses.
• Docker or containerisation experience.
• CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Exposure to infrastructure as code or DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating with ERP or business management systems.
