An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced APS6 Media Advisor to join a supportive, close-knit and high-performing team on an initial 12-month contract. Develop and deliver media strategies, plans and proactive media opportunities aligned with organisational priorities

Draft and edit media releases, talking points, key messages, media responses and briefing materials for senior executives

Manage media enquiries and responses, ensuring information is accurate, timely and appropriate for external audiences

Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets and internal stakeholders

Monitor the media environment and identify emerging issues, reputational risks and opportunities requiring communication support

Provide strategic media advice to senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across communications teams to deliver high-quality outcomes

What you'll need to succeed

Open to participating in an out-of-hours roster when required

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

Be an exceptional team player, with a collaborative and supportive approach

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail

Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work

A proactive, flexible and can-do attitude, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing media priorities
