A rapidly growing organisation operating within the defence sector is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager / Senior Accountant to support the establishment and growth of its Australian operations.This business is in an exciting phase, building its presence locally and opening a Brisbane office, offering a unique opportunity to join early and play a key role in shaping the finance function.
Your new role
This is a broad, hands-on finance role suited to someone who enjoys operating across both technical and operational finance in a growing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the month-end close and financial reporting
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Overseeing transactional finance, including AP, AR and reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with Australian reporting and tax requirements
- Partnering with local and international stakeholders
- Supporting the setup and improvement of finance processes and systems
- Assisting with audits and financial governance requirements
- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a hands-on finance role within an SME or growing business
- Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge
- Comfortable supporting across both strategic and transactional finance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a developing business environment
- Eligible to obtain Australian Baseline Security Clearance (essential)
