Morgan Stanley Investment Management strives to provide outstanding long-term investment performance, service and a comprehensive suite of investment management solutions to a diverse client base, which includes governments, institutions, corporations and individuals worldwide. MS Investment Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the global technical platforms that supports the MSIM Business.

Morgan Stanley Investment Management is seeking a hands-on technology lead for its Risk and Performance attribution function. This role will have the opportunity to drive transformational change in establishing a strategic platform and developing the overall technology strategy for this space. In addition to prior experience working with portfolio risk data, the ideal candidate should have expertise with architecting and developing solutions to provide analysis and insights to investment professionals. He/she will partner with MSIM?s Global Head of Risk and senior business leads responsible for risk across Equities, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset portfolios. The Risk and Attribution Technology team sits within the larger Investment Management technology organization.

Key responsibilities include:
· Work with business and technology partners to devise and execute a tech strategy for MSIM Risk & Attribution
· Manage the Risk & Attribution IT team across all aspects of project delivery
· Work with technology and business colleagues to assess and integrate emerging technologies as applicable to business objectives
· Actively participate as part of the broader MSIM technology leadership team to influence and shape the organization
· Develop a thorough understanding of MSIM technology?s development processes and requirements working closely with peer teams such as Data Management IT and Front Office technology teams
· Keep up to date on technology trends across the industry and bring innovative ideas to the platform


· Deep foundational knowledge of Investment Risk concepts across asset classes
· Experience working with quantitative and statistical analysis
· Prior experience building solutions for Risk and/or other front office functions
· Strong technical acumen with the ability to drive tool selection, platform design and lead talented developers
· Innovative mindset with the drive to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Full stack development experience including core java, scripting (e.g. Python), SQL/RDMS
· Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) preferred
· Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science or related field
· 8-10+ Years of relevant experience
