The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client's particular risk tolerance, and by providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services, including private banking and trust company services.

Within Private Wealth Management (PWM), the Markets Solutions Group (MSG) is a team of approximately 170 product and content specialists across Americas, EMEA, and Asia who provide a holistic capital markets offering to high net worth individuals, family offices and select institutions. MSG provides global capital markets investment opportunities and advice across public and private markets. MSG delivers the Firm to clients through investment advice, portfolio management, risk management, and market access. MSG also provides access to narrowly syndicated private investments for large Single Family Offices.

Analysts on the Markets Solutions Group (MSG) Management Team have a unique opportunity to work directly with senior management on the development and implementation of strategic and tactical initiatives across the business. You will serve as a key liaison for MSG teams, senior managers, and many other business enablers in daily business operations. The position requires analytical abilities complemented by strong interpersonal skills in providing solutions to complex macro and micro issues across the business.


  • Support the Global MSG Chief Operating Officer and the Global MSG Chief of Staff in managerial initiatives and oversight of the Global MSG business
  • Work closely with the MSG Management team and businesses across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia on a variety of issues including new business coordination, business metric reporting, platform development, and analytics
  • Collect and analyze data needed for prioritization of strategic initiatives, global resource allocation and budget management
  • Facilitate and manage cross-functional efforts on a variety of strategic initiatives and special projects related to business profitability and growth as well as operational and technological infrastructure
  • Using financial models as well as qualitative assessment, complete and present to senior management in-depth analyses on different facets of the business which influence revenue forecasts, market segmentation, recruiting strategy and other managerial issues
  • Work in conjunction with various product groups within IMD to respond to client needs
  • Keep abreast of the latest events in the financial markets
  • Provide general team support and client service

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of prior experience is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Windows technology (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Interest and knowledge in the financial markets
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and can lead / manage projects independently
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to work with detailed financial or other data and to understand and communicate commercial implications
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills
  • Good judgment and discretion
  • Series 7 and 66 preferred but not required
  • Undergraduate degree required
