Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks an Associate in New York, New York

Work as a Level 3 operations engineer, responsible for troubleshooting issues, implementing changes, and serving as a point of escalation for the Level 1 and 2 teams. Deliver software and hardware business technology solutions and coordinate the production, operations, and engineering of the Firm's data centers, voice and data networking solutions, wireless technologies, server and database operations, desktops, servers, and mainframes. Create and maintain best practices and policies, ensuring that they are followed. Work with Project Managers to develop execution and test plans for network changes on a weekly basis. Participate in weekly design meetings and engage with various engineering teams to review infrastructure. Participate in weekly Change Advisory Board meetings to explain their changes and answer any questions from the Change board. Roll out and deploy production changes to network infrastructure over the weekends (as needed) per guidelines from a Project Manager. Configure network equipment from different vendors. Implement routing protocols. Turn up new racks for server installation in the data center. Set up and test WAN/LAN infrastructure for office spaces. Troubleshoot network connectivity L2/L3 issues. Provide Level 3 support and handle L1/L2 escalations. Provide documentation of standard configuration procedures, ensuring best practices.


Requirements :

Requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or closely related field of study and one (1) years of experience in the position offered or one (1) years of experience as an Associate, Network Engineer, Consultant, or related occupation. Requires one (1) year of experience with: data networking principles pertaining to the LAN/WAN infrastructure; Cisco routing/switching, BGP and OSPF; instrumentation tools including Endance and nPulse, NMS tools including Spectrum, SevOne, and Splunk, and hardware platforms including Cisco, Arista, Juniper, HP, Dell and BNT; troubleshooting and providing day-to-day Level 3 operational support as part of a Global Network Operations Center (NOC); utilizing Wireshark for packet capture, analysis, and multicasting; prioritizing and executing various Network changes without causing any negative impact to the production environment; and MS Office including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
