POSITION: Legal Assistant reporting to the General Counsel. This position is located in San Francisco, CA.

Are you looking for an opportunity that will help you on your path to a future legal / paralegal career or looking to find just the right position for a long-term legal assistant career?  While we would love to find the right candidate and have you stay for a full career, we understand that for some candidates this position may be a building block and not the final destination.  The key is that we are looking for someone who will be a high performer while here.  In your cover letter, please let us know how this opportunity fits into your future plans so that we can accurately evaluate your candidacy.

  • You are proactive and actively look for ways to help;
  • You have a strong work ethic.

The more challenging tasks include drafting correspondence and revising agreements based on oral instructions; drafting simple agreements based on templates; creating template agreements based on completed agreements; drafting process workflows; and converting the GC’s ideas and sign-boards into visually appealing and engaging PPT presentations.

Department Administration

Department administration tasks include processing invoices and interacting with law firms and the Matthews Finance team on invoices received by the Legal Department; administration of the contract tracking system, including request intake, assigning requests to attorneys based on instructions from the GC, tracking the status of contracts and filing hard and soft copies; maintaining efficient soft copy and hard filing systems; and taking initiative to suggest and implement improvements and efficiencies to department processes.
