Department Description

Intelligent Automation & Change drives process improvement, automation and manages the change portfolio for Global Business Solutions (GBS). The Change function provides the professional programme, project and PMO capabilities to manage strategic change within GBS Operations. It also provides the portfolio management, enables prioritisation and governance and is the initial interface point for change led through other functions.

The Change function owns and builds change capability within GBS Operations and works with technology to ensure consistent management of change across GBS.

Job description and key responsibilities

You will be expected to take ownership of PMO activities with your responsibilities also including contributions in developing the PMO function for GBS Operations change. This would involve the following:

  • Working with senior leadership in GBS Operations Change to enhance the reporting and governance framework
  • Assisting project managers in using and adhering to this framework
  • Working closely with Technology and other project teams within FIL to provide joined up and consistent management reporting and ongoing alignment of the governance framework
  • Driving regular, concise and high-quality reporting to senior management
  • Ownership and management of the process to define and track project benefits
  • Providing support for resourcing and prioritisation decision making
  • Identification and management of dependencies and conflicts between projects
  • Working with Global Risk and ensuring that all projects are in alignment with their requirement
  • Assisting the PMs in project life-cycle management.

Skills and experience

Experience

  • Extensive experience with strong PMO focus from any industry. Financial Service or Management Consulting industry is preferable, but not necessary in case of strong PMO experience

Essential Skills

  • High degree of proficiency in MS Power Point including ability to develop clear, concise & compelling story lines
  • High degree of proficiency in MS excel including ability to develop complex models and data structures, including macros
  • Analytical approach and problem-solving skills - ability to analyse data (qualitative & quantitative) and generate improvement hypotheses
  • Experience of working with cross cultural teams across the globe in project-based environment
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • High degree of comfort in working with ambiguity
  • Proactive, willing to use initiative
  • Consistently reliable, methodical, adaptable, resourceful, enthusiastic, dedicated, self-motivated and commercially minded
