Our Test Engineers are central to delivering high quality products and services. We are developing our capability through the use of automation, agile principles, and implementing modern tools and technologies.

Duties. Work. Projects.

As a Senior Test Engineer you'll have chance to work across a massive portfolio of projects and functions, testing services responsible for £billions of payments using and leading edge tech and tooling.

You'll help define the overall testing strategy for our projects and services, provide technical leadership and guidance to test engineering teams, and have oversight of all testing activities.

You're a Test Engineering expert and advocate and you'll ensure that best practices are in place, and that we're using the right test tools for the job. And you'll drive improvement and capability by sharing knowledge and resources across our teams.

You'll have the skills, knowledge and experience to:

• Set the strategic direction for product teams and the Test Engineering community.
• Lead multiple Test Engineering teams, providing technical leadership and guidance.
• Lead delivery of testing activities, ensuring that quality, time and cost objectives are met.
• Define the approach for test infrastructure setup and use outputs to drive technical improvements.
• Identify appropriate required technical test tools.
• Drive standardisation by sharing reusable libraries and services, experience, and lessons learned with other DWP teams.
• Drive collaboration by aligning what teams are working on and highlighting the key dependencies, impacts and priorities.
• Lead community discussions around the latest technology trends, tools, and best practices within Test Engineering.
• Develop and deliver automated test suites/continuous integration
