Institutional Securities Technology (IS Tech) develop and oversee the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the Institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. Our clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research and Global Capital Markets as well as Operations, HR and Corporate Services.

Team Profile
The position of a UI Developer has become available within the London Prime Client Service Technology team. The team is closely aligned to the Prime Brokerage business unit. PB has a global footprint with offices in all the main financial centers, it provide consolidated clearing, custody, financing, foreign exchange and portfolio reporting services to the most sophisticated limited partnerships, asset managers and institutions. Prime Brokerage is very successful collection of businesses (PB, Listed Derivatives Clearing, OTC Clearing and DSP) and is seen as a market leader in its field in a number of global regions.

Morgan Stanley is the number one prime broker on the Street, a major contributing factor to this success has been the emphasis placed on technology. To maintain the competitive edge Morgan Stanley Prime Brokerage is continually looking to deploy innovative technology to deliver solutions to their Clients and well as internally to service their client base. With this global nature of the prime brokerage business and a flexible IT team structure there are opportunities to work on projects that are not bound by geographical location or business functions.

The team has a number of bespoke systems developed to assist the global business unit in the management and servicing of Clients. Users are both internal and external to the Firm. The team is responsible for a number of core systems that enable Client coverage (Client Service, Sales, Capital introduction, on-boarding etc.) to be best in the Breed service to our clients.

Due to increasing demand our team is now looking for a UI developer to join our ranks.

The role offers a tremendous opportunity to work with the latest technologies including Angular 7, TypeScript, RxJS, Electron, NodeJs working in a functional programming style with full TDD.

Our team is quality focused and follows strict adherence to agile methodologies. The role will be varied and allow the candidate to work across a range of different application classes and to challenge them in both technology and business related matters.

- Challenge conventional thinking with rational argument
- Comfortable presenting their work and ideas to a team

Focus on quality

- Experience writing unit tests
- Expose to other types of testing ? BDD, coverage or End to End testing.
- Experience of Inversion of Control and Dependency Injection techniques.
- Experience of Continuous integration and web build tools

- Understanding of enterprise patterns
- Comfortable with Functional programming techniques
- Understanding of principles such as SOLID, KISS, YAGNI, Code to

- Easy going, relaxed can-do attitude.
- Comfortable with tools for agile (jira or the like)
