Senior Technology Sales Consultant

The Senior Technology Sales Consultant position is a high level role based in London with a focus on business development & retention in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). The senior member we're in search of will report directly to the EMEA Head of Sales with a dotted line into Northern Trust's U.S. based counterparts in Chicago, IL.

The primary responsibilities for the role include:


• Preparing and pitching influential technology demos to clients, prospects and consultants across business lines
• Raising Northern Trust's profile as a Fintech provider to the external market
• Providing input and direction towards Northern Trust's technology based solutions strategy
• Researching client's needs to provide bespoke technology solutions
• Working closely with the RFP (Request for Proposal) team and Marketing team to ensure a coherent, consistent message is communicated externally regarding Northern Trust's technology offerings
• Liaising with the business to drive innovation and promote leading technology in the industry
• Staying aware of changing market conditions and tracking new concepts within the industry to ensure Northern Trust's is offering relevant and up-to-date technology platforms

Additional responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic sales support for Northern Trust initiatives aimed at expanding & retaining client relationships and business development
• Providing regular tech updates to the EMEA sales team to ensure they are up to date with the various technology products available in the market
• Packaging Northern Trust reporting solutions and technological capabilities for a wide array of clients
• Providing technical consultancy in the development of formal sales proposals
• Partnering with Sales Managers and client service team representatives to create strategies directed at prospecting and client engagement meetings
• Coordinating technical pre-sales activities, transferring technical specifications and product knowledge to existing and prospective clients through the RFP/ RFI process
• Proactively investigating ways to differentiate Northern Trust's technology offering from the competition
• Devising bespoke, market leading solutions to enable Northern Trust to have a competitive edge in market tenders and prospect opportunities
• Delivering engaging and influential technology demos across the entire suite of Northern Trust technology applications
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a fair amount of the following qualities:

• Demonstrated ability to understand and process information regarding technology based products
• Demonstrated ability to create a holistic, client focused story that highlights the value to the end-user(s)
• Demonstrated ability to create a network of contacts whilst building trust & credibility in the framework of those relationships
• Demonstrated ability to lead prospect and client technology roadshows
• A proven self-starter with the energy and passion to continually create new narratives to showcase and articulate the value of a company's brand
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks while meeting deadlines in a highly regulated environment
• Demonstrated technical knowledge around investment strategies and the investment process
• A proven track record in sales presentations/ demos
• Willing and able to devise and deliver a product presentation for Senior Leaders during the recruitment process
• Willing and available to travel to client meetings, conference and roadshows though out EMEA and at times the U.S. as dictated by business needs
• A deep understanding of client functions, needs and pain points - and potential technology solutions
• Demonstrated multi-segment expertise within the financial sector
• Multi-product expertise for technology and reporting solutions within the financial sector
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills; additional language skills are a bonus (e.g. German, Dutch, Nordic)
