The Head of Automation CoE is responsible for: - Overall running of Automation function including all governance and financials (2020 portfolio of approximately USD+20m) - Managing and developing the Automation (RPA /Workflow /digitisation & machine learning tools) approach, methodology, design standards, tools and best practices. Providing updates and driving consistency in delivery and application.

Building Automation capability by running the Automation Academy ensuring effective education and awareness, approach and methods - Identification, assessment and solution build (including building business cases) for all Automation opportunities - Reviewing, agreeing and embedding new technology in the existing products - acting as an incubation centre before moving production into the Digital Operations Centres (DOCs) Principal

Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas Value Creation  Support in the definition and documentation of the group-wide Automation implementation approach  Manage and develop Automation methodology, design standards and tools based on industry best practice  Ensure coherence of Automation approach methodology, design standards and tools across the group  Defines and maintains global process for benefits tracking and reporting  Hosts Design authority forum providing update on emerging methodologies, design standards and tools, gathering feedback and lessons learnt  Ensures continuous improvement by incorporating feedback and lessons learnt in design of methodology, design standards and tools  Provides training input to Automation Training Academy, and building capability and awareness of methodology, design standards and tools  Ongoing update of criteria and templates to establish automation candidate evaluation and prioritisation  Stays abreast of emerging Automation methodologies, design standards and tools  Define change and implementation approach  Inspire and engage people through policy to create an inclusive, high performing, and client-centric culture, enhancing the client experience  Creates an environment which encourages development and uplifts capability within the team  Take prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy  Engage with Technology on testing new solutions with existing technology infrastructure  Creating methods for delivery and engagement for new tech as part of transition of packaged solutions into DOC's  Creation of bundles of technology to deliver a packaged solution for DOC's to implement  Leverage Blue prism Digital exchange to identify and test integrated tech as part of quick proof of concept (POC) activity.
