EMEA Asset Servicing Technology provides platforms, applications and integration services to a range of internal and external Asset Servicing business clients primarily in EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa). The functional teams within this part of the organisation cross multiple lines of business.

Overview of the role:

BNY Mellon are looking for a dynamic individual to join their EMEA AST (Asset Servicing Technology) department as a Project Manager, initially working on the Trust & Depositary and Transfer Agency change portfolio.

The successful candidate will lead and deliver projects with responsibilities including project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation and stakeholder management.

A strong technology background is required as projects focus on changes to a mix of legacy and modern systems, some of which are in-house, others are vendor supplied.

The candidate will work within a larger EMEA Asset Servicing Technology function with delivery teams located in the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland and India. This role is located in London and reports to senior management also located in London.

Role responsibilities:

  • Liaises between internal and external clients and technical groups to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Manages communication with the business groups at an appropriate level and discusses/resolves issues
  • Manages client expectations and ensures project delivery conforms with company software development life cycle methodologies
  • Manages relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders across the region
  • Works with development teams in locations across Europe and India to deliver business technology solutions
  • Comfortable with a range of project and software development methodologies and able to apply appropriate methodologies according to the needs of the project
  • Task manages a cross section of team members including analysts and developers. Assigns tasks and checks work products for accuracy and completeness
  • Manages projects via creation and maintenance of project plans, work breakdown structures, schedule effort estimation and tracking. Conducts effective status meetings and facilitates issue resolution and risk mitigation
  • Facilitates testing preparation and test execution
  • Acts as an advocate for change management; encourages innovation and creativity in technology solutions
  • Involved in managing relationships with vendors and service providers including agreeing professional services and support and maintenance contracts where appropriate


  • Excellent communication skills
  • Formal higher education numerate discipline such as science, engineering, technology or economics (or equivalent relevant industry experience)
  • Demonstrates a good general understanding of investment management and the role of the asset servicing businesses; areas such as Trust & Depositary, Transfer Agency, Fund Accounting and Custody
  • Formal professional qualifications e.g. PRINCE2, PMP preferred but not mandatory
