This well-established fund are expanding rapidly, hence why the COO’s workload is currently beyond capacity, so he seeks a bright, ambitious, hard-working operations professional to support him on COO tasks that he will offload on to this new hire. We must stress that this is not a line role in any from (hence why it suits an operations person looking to step away for line / daily BAU operations tasks) - the role suits an individual looking to progress into a COO seat in 5yrs time. Key standard tasks include reviewing company financials / preparing board packs across all funds (for the executive committee), Identifying areas of risk, proposing solutions / solving them, coordinating the relationship with 3rd party Administrators, Prime Brokers and Custodians, Co-managing COO projects including for upcoming fund launches etc.
Candidates should be hedge fund operations professionals with circa 10yrs experience, however realistically a 5-10yr person capable of making a big step up, or a 10yr+ person wanting a fresh challenge could still be suitable. A strong academic profile is preferred. Solid project management experience is a must.
Whilst there can be flexibility, my client feels that realistically the correct level of candidate will cost around 70-80k base to hire, especially as the bonus range will be 50-100%.
The firm currently run a flexible working policy – some employees work from the office 5 days per week, some work completely from home, however most run a hybrid 3/2 model.
