Great opportunity for a Director to fortify the Boards of Managers of our client, prestigious asset manager, with well-rounded professionals with diverse investment and financial experience.

DIRECTOR - LEADING ASSET MANAGER (M/F)

THE ROLE:
• The Manager will have the responsibility of sitting on the boards of several European Direct Lending SPVs which will make investments primarily in senior secured loans but also in other debt securities and equity
• The Manager will have the added responsibility of ensuring compliance on all tax, regulatory, legal, operations and accounting matters, depending on their relevant area of expertise
• The position will require either two (2) days of flexible time per week or a full-time position requiring five (5) days per week
• The successful candidate will need to read/understand and analyse all new investments and be able to formulate an investment approval. His/her fiduciary duties will be to the Luxembourg company/SPV and will take effect via that board representation
• Subject to performance, board representation responsibilities will be extended to other structures managed by Ares


THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:
• Relevant Bachelor's degree required
• Fluency in English
• The candidate must be a Luxembourg resident, preferably living in Luxembourg
• 10+years' experience in a similar role or  a relevant background in tax, compliance, regulatory, operations or accounting
• Understanding of credit products and being able to analyse investment proposals - developed quantitative, financial and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and a flexible time commitment to the role are pre-requisites
• Knowledge of corporate governance practices
• Able to analyse credit investment proposals
• Demonstrable experience of the Board process / Board packages
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, presentation and time management skills
• Must possess impeccable integrity and professionalism
• Awareness of special needs relating to the recognition and resolution of business conflicts within the investment field
• Ability to balance multiple tasks with competing and changing priorities
• Strong motivation to contribute to a team and optimize processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other office software products

Our client is a leading global alternative asset manager with approximately $325 billion of assets under management.
