The position offered is within the Group Catastrophe Management unit of Generali Head Office, which is responsible for Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management and supporting cat Business Solutions.

It is a lean but dynamic central team, which is in charge of coordinating activities of local teams in the main non-life Group BUs, within an international and stimulating working environment. It entails close interaction with Group companies and branches, service providers, research institutions and with the Non-Life Treaty Reinsurance, Facultative Reinsurance, Treaty Retrocession, Risk Management and other units within Generali HO.

 

The intern will be involved in the technical field of catastrophe modelling and he will contribute in:

  • Performing and/or reviewing catastrophe modelling by Group Companies and Service Providers
  • Ensuring adherence to best practices and covering activities tied to the Generali Solvency II approved internal model framework, all in close contact with Reinsurance and Risk Management
  • Strengthening the Group tools and processes  

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

 
Must have
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • University studies in a quantitative discipline, preferably actuarial sciences, engineering, geophysics, physics or mathematics
  • English knowledge
Nice to have
  • Programming experience, especially for query and data processing (e.g. SQL, SAS), 
  • Knowledge of R or other similar programming languages,
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and VBA.
