Job Description
 

In order to sustain our growing business in Milan, we are looking for a talented and dedicated Team Leader  - Financial Controller.

Within our Performance Management team, the person will be responsible for the ongoing management of portfolio reporting concerning NPL portfolios managed by the Case Management Team.

 In addition there will a requirement to support new Underwriting projects as necessary and interfacing directly with the client to meet their objectives and timeframes.

The main responsibilities of the position will include the following:

- Report directly to the Country Manager with input on the reporting requirements for the business as a whole;

-  Conduct due diligence on the existing/ new loan portfolios and assist in the formulation and management of Management Information (MI) for the Senior Team on an ongoing basis;

-  Ensure all MI systems are kept up to date and accurate at all times;

-   Oversee and responsibility for the timely delivery of accurate and robust MI as required by our client (to include daily, ad-hoc, weekly and monthly reporting);

- Assist Senior Asset Manager / Senior Manager in the organisation of portfolio reporting meetings and where relevant act as point of contact for the client on specific projects;

- Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff;

- As a Team Lead, instruct junior team members to complete tasks leading to the effective management of client reporting.



Qualifications
 

The position holder should possess the following key attributes:

- University degree in Banking or Economics/Finance/Private Equity;

- 3 to 7 years of relevant professional experience with a Private Equity client, NPL Servicer or Real Estate Asset Management preferable

- Financial modelling – ability to work with complex MS Excel features to suit Senior Management MI requests;

- Due diligence experience – ability to work with limited information to assist with the formation strategies regarding borrower connections;

- Strong financial analysis skills with ability to review; understand and interpret audited financial accounts, management accounts and financial forecasts an advantage;

- Effective communicator, influencer and negotiator with an ability to communicate at all levels;

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;

- Experience of working in a client facing role and of negotiating with internal/ external stakeholders and their advisors;

- Demonstrate an organised approach to work, and an ability to prioritise to ensure critical tasks are delivered accurately and in a timely manner;

- Experience in working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment;

- Fluent in English and Italian (any other language would be considered as an asset);

- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages with key focus on Excel /especially  

  • ability tio manage lage data
  • knowledge of advanced functions
  • Pivot tables and charts
  • use of analytical add-ins
  • macros and VBA editing
