Multinational Hedge Fund, reputable Long/Short seeking Head of Ops to join the fast-growing international team. Fantastic salary, benefits and long-term career progression on offer.

Role: Head of Operations - Candidate directly reporting into COO

Job Duties:

  • Management of Finance / Ops / Accounting: Responsible for creating processes and following through with implementation and documentation of processes

Day-to-Day operations of fund:

  • Build processes and document for all areas of operational items are done
  • Reconcile cash, positions, stock borrow (shapes, rates, cash) to PBs
  • Review admin cash and positions, recs with PBs
  • Check fail trades reported by PB and action based on priority
  • Monitor lifecycle life cycle events
  • Review financing calculations for swaps to PBs
  • Reviewing borrow costs to PBs
  • Confirming global trades
  • Update systems with sector/analyst/country information for new positions
  • Ensure PTH and excess borrow is booked correctly

Month end:

  • Reconcile admin across all areas of balance sheet
  • Calculate and settle fees
  • Review invoices due to third parties and ensuring accruals are properly handled
  • Review capital activity, ensure booked properly and engage in dialogue with admin on AML/KYC. 

Finance duties:

  • Monitor portfolio financing calculations at PBs and ensure portfolio is efficiently allocated
  • Review margin and how positions are split btwn PBs.
  • Account opening for PBs / ISDAs/ executing brokers
  • Monitoring spend by counterparty for commissions, stock borrow, swap financing


  • Participate in Investor ODD meetings to walk through operational / accounting / financing processes
  • Compile and / or analyze investor requests
  • Monitor, compile and /or analyze regulatory requests (whether driven by trading or jurisdictions where entities are registered)


  • Participate in fund audits
  • Participate in fund tax work

Requirements for candidate:

  • Best for the candidate to have worked in different roles and not just specialized in one duty
  • 5-10 years working experience (open to candidates who want to step-up)
  • Proactive and self-driven
  • Able to handle multi-tasking and prioritizing items
  • Investing required hours in succeeding together with the firm
  • Independent and creative thinker 
  • Open to discussions and presents potential solutions
  • Can receive and offer professional criticism to support a best in class approach
  • Comfortable working in a western style office environment
  • Experience with Broadridge's BIMS (formerly Paladyne) preferred, not required
  • Experience in a hedge fund or fast paced environment
  • Knowledge in coding/ VBA would be a plus.
  • CPA is a plus but not required
