Support & Tech Operations
We provide robust, fit for purpose, user, application and infrastructure support across the Institutional Domain. One of our key objectives is to build a support and operations capability that can scale as business demands require and providing high-level responsiveness and minimimal time to recover for all premium applications and business requests.

Our focus is to…

  • Support all Institutional applications (including any specific ‘in-country’ application development and support)
  • Support all Institutional Tech Areas
  • Support our Institutional employee user base on a ‘per country’ and global basis as required.

In this role, you will support the Production Support Manager / Operations Engineer as part of the support team servicing the Institutional business domain of Fixed Income, Rates, Credit, Capital Markets, Balance Sheet, Equity derivatives. The role contributes to ensuring a stable production system to meet and cater to the organisations business objectives and customer requirements.

What does a 'day in the life' look like
  • Provide effective & efficient Level 1 and 2 Business support to Business teams across all associated applications on a day to day basis under the guidance of the Production Support Manager.
  • Provide updates where required to System Support documentation describing process and procedures for operating within the Production Support environment
  • Monitoring of applications, logs, queues to ensure transactions are processed as per business requirements
  • Answer business queries and raise incidents/problems where required relative to issues/problems/clarifications raised concerning transactions processed within the Production systems.
  • Enables continuous delivery practices to increase delivery speed
  • Works in collaborative teams to build innovative solutions
  • Ensure over time that you become an expert on Supported apps mainly ION, ARM, Appian GMW, Bloomberg, Murex, TOMS/Vcon/Tradebook/STP, Ipreo Globalbook, FIRE
  • Raising of Requests/Incidents/Problem records and associated follow up and closure

Role Skills and Responsibilities
What will be in your toolkit
  • Demonstrated customer service focus and ethic, strong experience in finance industry with excellent client and vendor management skills
  • Support analyst experience in supporting medium/large mission critical applications under Fixed Income, Rates, Credit, Capital Markets, Balance Sheet , Equities domain including front office business support
  • Excellent understanding of the Incident and Problem Management processes and other ITIL processes
  • Ability to triage and diagnose defects/issues
  • Understand customer needs to make sound judgments
  • Pays attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions
  • Understanding of current state landscape and relevant technologies
  • Hands on and capable of managing applications running on
  • Solaris, Linux, Windows, Sybase, Qracle, MS-SQL, Tomcat, Jboss, Java, Dot Net, ITRS, Control-M, ConnectDirect, Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, BitBucket Experienced working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions (desired but not mandatory)

Specialised Skills
  • Strong Experience with ION, Bloomberg TOMS/VCON, Reuters, Marketaxess, Tradeweb, Yieldbroker, Ipreo, Appian, Murex will be advantageous
