Our client is an intrinsic part of the global Derivatives infrastructure and plays a leading role in mitigating settlement risk across global markets. Through its subsidiaries, its supports cross-product post trade lifecycle transactions, as well as regulatory reporting for multiple jurisdictions across all asset classes.

The Technology Risk function is responsible for working with all stakeholders within the Derivatives Technology Group in identifying and assessing various business critical risks (operational, compliance, regulatory, technology, processing, reputational) and to mitigate those risks in both BAU processes and in projects primarily relating to information technology such as application development, infrastructure, information security, incidents. The individual will have primary responsibility for ESMA Regulatory requests and audit requirements.


  • Mitigating operational risk with primary focus on information technology
  • Strengthen controls over risk and comply with corporate initiatives such as New Initiatives, Management Self Identification of Audit Issues, Operational Risk Management Risk Policies
  • Support and monitor ongoing staff education and development in effective risk management
  • Develop corporate risk policies, procedures and best practices
  • Reassess existing processes and create new ones that anticipate, manage and reduce risk
  • Foster an environment of regulatory awareness and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Working with the Technology & Business Risk Management staff, as well as Subject Matter Experts
  • Assessment of Derivative project risks
  • Assessment of new products and services
  • Monitor existing technology activity for risk exposure and communicate recommendations on the acceptability and potential mitigation for these risks with the Technology Risk Team
  • Act as the central point of coordination for post incident information gathering as required by local regulators and/or participants
  • Support Compliance and Business in liaising with regulators on an ongoing basis


  • Experience in dealing with regulators and or financial regulations
  • Extensive experience in a control function in a financial services organization, with primary focus on information technology
  • Experience working in a global team and working with colleagues in remote locations
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.


  • Understanding of systems processing and technology
  • Understanding of Derivatives desirable
  • Articulate, with strong written and verbal communication skills
